Job Overview
The Supply Chain Analyst will play a pivotal role in optimizing end‑to‑end logistics, inventory management, and demand forecasting for Unilever’s product portfolio in Uganda. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze historical sales data and market trends to develop accurate demand forecasts for multiple product lines.
- Monitor inventory levels across warehouses and distribution centers, identifying excesses and shortages.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to align supply plans with demand forecasts.
- Generate weekly and monthly performance reports, highlighting key metrics such as fill rate, order cycle time, and inventory turnover.
- Identify opportunities for process automation and recommend technology solutions to improve data visibility.
- Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and Six Sigma projects.
- Assist in the development of contingency plans to mitigate supply disruptions caused by external factors.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Excellent communication skills for presenting insights to senior management and cross‑functional partners.
- Detail‑oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Knowledge of supply chain best practices, demand planning, and inventory optimization.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is advantageous.
Education
The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline. Advanced certifications such as APICS CPIM, CSCP, or a Master’s degree in a relevant field are considered a strong advantage and demonstrate a commitment to professional development.
Experience
A minimum of three to five years of hands‑on experience in supply chain analytics, demand planning, or inventory management within a consumer goods or fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment is required. Experience working with multinational corporations and exposure to regional supply chain networks in East Africa will be highly valued.
