Job Overview

The Cloud Solutions Architect will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud‑based solutions for SAP’s enterprise customers in Uganda. Reporting to the Head of Cloud Services, you will work closely with sales, consulting, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust, scalable architectures that leverage SAP’s cloud portfolio, including SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and SAP S/4HANA Cloud. This position is central to SAP Uganda’s mission of delivering innovative, secure, and cost‑effective cloud services, and it directly supports the company’s hiring in Uganda strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end‑to‑end cloud architectures that align with client business goals and SAP best practices.
• Collaborate with sales and consulting teams to develop technical proposals, proof‑of‑concepts, and solution demos.
• Lead implementation projects, ensuring successful migration, integration, and deployment of SAP cloud services.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior architects and engineers.
• Conduct performance tuning, cost optimization, and security assessments for cloud environments.
• Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, industry trends, and SAP product roadmaps.
• Participate in pre‑sales workshops, webinars, and industry events to promote SAP’s cloud capabilities.
• Document architecture designs, standards, and best practices for internal knowledge bases.

Required Skills

• Deep expertise in public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and SAP BTP.
• Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, microservices, and API management.
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical mindset.
• Effective communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Project management experience with Agile methodologies.
• Certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or SAP Certified Technology Associate – Cloud Platform.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are highly valued.

Experience

At least five years of hands‑on experience designing and delivering cloud solutions for enterprise clients, preferably within the SAP ecosystem. Experience in the Ugandan market or similar emerging economies is a distinct advantage.

Salary

The competitive salary range for this role is SSP 30,000,000 to SSP 45,000,000 per month, complemented by performance‑based bonuses, health benefits, and a comprehensive retirement plan.
