Job Overview

The eLearning Content Designer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining engaging digital learning modules for K‑12 and higher education audiences. Working closely with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and multimedia specialists, the role focuses on creating interactive, accessible, and culturally relevant content that aligns with Uganda’s national curriculum standards and Pearson’s global quality benchmarks. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop interactive eLearning modules using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, and Rise 360.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate curriculum objectives into engaging digital learning experiences.
• Ensure all content complies with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and is optimized for low‑bandwidth environments common in Uganda.
• Integrate multimedia elements—including video, audio, simulations, and assessments—to enhance learner engagement.
• Conduct pilot testing with teachers and students, gather feedback, and iterate on content to improve effectiveness.
• Maintain a repository of reusable assets and templates to streamline future development cycles.
• Stay updated on emerging eLearning trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve content quality.
• Provide training and support to local educators on how to implement and adapt the digital resources in classroom settings.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools (Articulate, Captivate, or similar).
• Strong instructional design knowledge, including ADDIE or SAM methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in local languages is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Basic graphic design skills using Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.
• Understanding of learning management systems (LMS) such as Moodle or Canvas.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret learner data and refine content accordingly.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Multimedia Production, or a related field is required. Candidates with a Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ATD Instructional Design Certificate) will be given preference.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience creating eLearning content for K‑12 or higher education environments. Experience working in low‑resource settings, familiarity with the Ugandan education system, or prior involvement in international development projects will be considered advantageous.

Salary
