Job Overview
This role involves designing energy-efficient buildings and sustainable construction systems that meet international green building standards. The position is ideal for professionals passionate about reducing environmental impact through architectural innovation. Key Responsibilities
- Develop sustainable building designs using BIM and CAD software
- Conduct energy performance simulations for proposed structures
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to integrate eco-friendly materials
- Ensure compliance with LEED and Green Star certification requirements
- Prepare technical documentation for construction teams
- Monitor project sustainability metrics during implementation
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and EnergyPlus software
- Knowledge of passive design principles and solar energy systems
- Experience with Ugandan building codes and environmental regulations
- Strong analytical skills for lifecycle cost assessments
- Excellent communication for cross-disciplinary collaboration
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Sustainable Design
- Master’s Degree preferred but not required
- LEED AP or similar certification advantageous
Experience
- Minimum 3 years in sustainable construction projects
- Proven track record in green building design
- Experience with urban development projects in East Africa
Salary
UGX 2,500,000 – UGX 3,500,000 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
