Job Overview

The Health Information Systems Analyst will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing electronic health record (EHR) platforms and related health information technologies for our clients in Uganda. Reporting to the IT & Clinical Systems Manager, the analyst will work closely with hospital administrators, clinicians, and software developers to ensure that data flows securely, accurately, and efficiently across the health ecosystem. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze clinical workflows and translate requirements into functional specifications for EHR and health information systems.
• Configure, test, and deploy system modules, ensuring compliance with local health regulations and data privacy standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate medical devices, telehealth platforms, and analytics tools.
• Provide on‑site and remote technical support, troubleshooting system issues and delivering timely resolutions.
• Develop and maintain documentation, including user guides, SOPs, and system architecture diagrams.
• Conduct training sessions for end‑users, enhancing system adoption and proficiency.
• Monitor system performance, generate reports, and recommend enhancements to improve data quality and operational efficiency.
• Participate in project planning, budgeting, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful project delivery.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of EHR systems (e.g., Philips HealthSuite, OpenMRS, or similar platforms).
• Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and health informatics standards such as HL7, FHIR, and ICD‑10.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills to interact with clinicians, administrators, and technical teams.
• Project management experience, preferably with Agile methodologies.
• Understanding of Ugandan health regulations, data protection laws, and Ministry of Health guidelines.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) or similar are advantageous.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of hands‑on experience implementing or supporting health information systems in a clinical setting. Experience within the Ugandan or East African healthcare market is highly valued.

Salary

The competitive salary range for this role is SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 4,000,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and benefits are included.
