Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrometallurgical Process Engineer to join our technical team in Nebbi. Key Responsibilities

• Optimize hydrometallurgical circuits including leaching, CIP, and CIL processes to maximize gold recovery rates.
• Monitor and control chemical reagent consumption to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations.
• Conduct detailed mass and water balance calculations to maintain process stability.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex metallurgical issues within the processing plant.
• Collaborate with the environmental team to ensure all chemical effluents meet strict regulatory standards.
• Implement process control strategies to enhance the efficiency of the electrowinning stage.

Required Skills

• Advanced knowledge of chemical kinetics and thermodynamics related to gold extraction.
• Proficiency in metallurgical modeling software and process simulation tools.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex laboratory assay data.
• Excellent project management and technical reporting capabilities.
• In-depth understanding of environmental safety protocols in chemical processing.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a closely related field is mandatory. Post-graduate qualifications in Mineral Processing or Process Engineering will be highly regarded.

Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 to 7 years of direct experience in hydrometallurgical plant operations, preferably within a large-scale gold mining environment.
