Job Overview
This role focuses on optimizing logistics operations in Mbarara to align with environmental sustainability goals. The position requires strategic coordination between suppliers, transport providers, and local authorities to implement energy-efficient distribution networks. Candidates will leverage digital tools to monitor emissions and improve supply chain transparency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement sustainable logistics strategies for regional operations
- Coordinate with suppliers to adopt eco-friendly packaging and transportation methods
- Analyze supply chain data to identify carbon reduction opportunities
- Develop partnerships with local environmental organizations for green initiatives
- Monitor compliance with international sustainability standards (ISO 14001)
Required Skills
- Expertise in green logistics software (e.g., SAP Sustainability)
- Knowledge of Ugandan transportation regulations and environmental policies
- Strong analytical skills for route optimization and emissions tracking
- Excellent negotiation skills for supplier sustainability agreements
- Fluency in English and local languages (Luganda preferred)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Environmental Science, or Supply Chain Management
- Master’s degree in Sustainable Business preferred
Experience

Salary
UGX 8,000,000 – UGX 12,000,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
