Job Overview

The Construction BIM Manager will lead the implementation and management of BIM processes across multiple high‑value projects in Uganda. Reporting to the Head of Project Management Office, you will collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and client representatives to ensure that digital models are accurate, up‑to‑date, and fully integrated into the project lifecycle. This role is pivotal in driving efficiency, mitigating risks, and delivering projects that meet the highest standards of quality and sustainability. You will also mentor junior BIM staff, develop company‑wide BIM standards, and act as the primary liaison with software vendors and external consultants. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enforce BIM execution plans for all assigned projects.
• Coordinate 3D model creation, clash detection, and resolution across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
• Lead BIM workshops and training sessions for internal teams and external partners.
• Integrate BIM data with project schedules, cost estimates, and procurement systems.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, international standards, and client specifications.
• Produce detailed visualisations, construction sequencing animations, and as‑built models for client handover.
• Monitor BIM software licenses, updates, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with the sustainability team to embed green building criteria within BIM models.

Required Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360 platforms.
• Strong understanding of construction workflows, detailing, and coordination processes.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for multi‑disciplinary stakeholder engagement.
• Leadership experience in managing BIM teams or cross‑functional groups.
• Ability to produce clear documentation, reports, and presentations.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Autodesk Certified Professional, BIM Manager, or PMP are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on BIM management experience on large‑scale construction projects, preferably within the East African market. Demonstrated success in implementing BIM standards and delivering measurable project improvements is essential.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 2,500,000 to 4,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and allowances are also part of the compensation package.
