Job Overview

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program Manager will lead the design, implementation and evaluation of Unilever Uganda’s CSR portfolio. Reporting to the Head of CSR, the role will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, external NGOs, government agencies and local communities to deliver projects that align with Unilever’s Sustainable Living Plan. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a multi‑year CSR strategy that supports Unilever’s global sustainability commitments and local development priorities.
  • Identify, prioritize and manage community projects in areas such as nutrition, water, sanitation, women’s empowerment and climate resilience.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with NGOs, government bodies, academic institutions and industry peers to leverage resources and expertise.
  • Prepare detailed project proposals, budgets, timelines and risk assessments, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Monitor, measure and report on the social, environmental and economic impact of CSR initiatives using robust KPIs and impact assessment tools.
  • Coordinate internal communications to raise employee awareness and encourage volunteer participation in CSR activities.
  • Represent Unilever Uganda at industry forums, conferences and stakeholder meetings to showcase best practices and promote the brand’s social purpose.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards and Unilever’s Code of Business Principles.

Required Skills

  • Strong project management capabilities with a proven track record of delivering complex social programs.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Effective communication and storytelling skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CSR reporting frameworks such as GRI and SDG Compass.
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Social Sciences, Development Studies or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certification in CSR, Sustainability or Project Management is highly desirable.

Experience

At least five (5) years of hands‑on experience in corporate social responsibility, sustainability, community development or non‑profit program management, preferably within the consumer goods sector. Experience working in Uganda or East Africa is an advantage.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 3,500,000 to SSP 5,000,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the remuneration package.
