Job Overview
The Digital Banking Product Innovation Manager will lead the end‑to‑end development and launch of cutting‑edge digital banking products, including mobile banking apps, online account opening, and AI‑powered financial advisory tools. Reporting to the Head of Digital Banking, the role will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—technology, risk, compliance, marketing, and operations—to ensure products meet market needs, regulatory standards, and KCB’s strategic objectives. This position is pivotal in driving the bank’s digital agenda, enhancing customer engagement, and strengthening KCB’s competitive edge in the rapidly evolving financial services landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for digital banking solutions aligned with market trends and customer insights.
- Conduct comprehensive market research, competitor analysis, and user testing to identify opportunities for innovation.
- Lead agile product development cycles, from concept and design through testing, launch, and post‑launch optimization.
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration with core banking systems and third‑party platforms.
- Work closely with risk, compliance, and legal departments to embed regulatory requirements and security standards.
- Develop pricing models, business cases, and performance metrics to evaluate product success.
- Drive go‑to‑market strategies, including digital marketing, customer education, and partnership development.
- Monitor product performance, gather feedback, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Represent KCB at industry forums, fintech conferences, and stakeholder meetings to promote thought leadership.
Required Skills
- Strong product management expertise with a focus on digital financial services.
- Deep understanding of banking regulations, data security, and fintech ecosystems in Uganda.
- Proficiency in agile methodologies, UX/UI principles, and product analytics tools.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strategic thinking combined with hands‑on execution ability.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value.
- Leadership experience in cross‑functional, multicultural teams.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required. A master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, PMP) are highly desirable and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning, which aligns with KCB’s emphasis on professional development.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience managing digital products within the banking or fintech sector, with a proven track record of launching successful digital solutions. Experience in emerging markets, particularly in Uganda or East Africa, will be considered an advantage, as it provides valuable context for local customer behavior and regulatory environments.
Salary
KCB offers a competitive compensation package ranging from SSP 3,000,000 to SSP 5,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
