Job Overview: We are seeking a Digital Forestry Management Specialist to join our team in Kasese, Uganda. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions to support our forestry management efforts. This will include designing and implementing digital tools to monitor forest health, track deforestation, and engage local communities in forest conservation efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, forestry, or a related field, and experience with digital technologies such as GIS, remote sensing, and data analytics.

- Develop and implement digital solutions to support forestry management efforts
- Design and implement digital tools to monitor forest health, track deforestation, and engage local communities in forest conservation efforts
- Collaborate with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable solutions to environmental challenges
- Conduct research and analysis to inform forestry management decisions
- Develop and maintain relationships with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders to support forestry management efforts
Required Skills:
- Strong background in environmental science, forestry, or a related field
- Experience with digital technologies such as GIS, remote sensing, and data analytics
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, or related field
Experience: 5-7 years of experience in forestry management, environmental science, or a related field
Salary: 4,500,000 – 6,000,000 SSP per annum
