Job Overview

The Mineral Processing Plant Manager will lead the end‑to‑end operations of the processing facility, ensuring optimal recovery rates, product quality, and operational efficiency. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, the manager will oversee a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and support staff. The role demands strategic planning, rigorous safety oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives to meet production targets and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute operational strategies to maximize mineral recovery and throughput.
  • Lead a team of 120+ staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and performance excellence.
  • Monitor and optimize plant processes, including crushing, grinding, flotation, and leaching, using data‑driven methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with Ugandan mining regulations, environmental standards, and corporate sustainability policies.
  • Manage capital and operating budgets, controlling costs while achieving production goals.
  • Collaborate with upstream mining teams to align feed quality with processing requirements.
  • Implement continuous improvement programs such as Lean Six Sigma to enhance efficiency.
  • Oversee maintenance planning, equipment reliability, and spare‑parts inventory management.
  • Prepare detailed performance reports for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Drive community engagement initiatives and support corporate social responsibility projects.

Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of ten years of progressive experience in mineral processing, with at least five years in a senior supervisory or managerial role. Demonstrated success in leading large‑scale operations, managing cross‑functional teams, and delivering measurable performance improvements is essential.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 30,000,000 to SSP 45,000,000 per month, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and performance. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, pension contributions, and other statutory benefits.
