Job Overview

This position is part of SolarAid’s mission to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy technologies in Uganda. The Renewable Energy Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of solar energy initiatives in Jinja, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure project success. Candidates will drive community engagement, coordinate with technical teams, and report on project outcomes to senior management. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project plans for solar energy initiatives in Jinja.
  • Coordinate with engineers, technicians, and local partners to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new energy projects.
  • Prepare progress reports and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Engage with communities to promote renewable energy adoption and address concerns.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in project management for energy or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of solar energy systems and sustainability practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and solve complex problems.
  • Leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

Experience

3–5 years of experience in renewable energy project management, with a focus on solar energy initiatives in developing regions.

Salary

UGX 5,000,000 – UGX 7,500,000 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
