Job Overview
We are seeking a highly meticulous and detail-oriented Commercial Aviation Compliance Officer to join our Legal and Regulatory Affairs department. This critical role is designed to ensure that all commercial activities, flight operations, and passenger service protocols align strictly with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations and international ICAO standards. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between commercial objectives and regulatory requirements, ensuring that our expansion strategies do not compromise legal or safety mandates. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret changes in international aviation laws and local CAA regulations to ensure continuous compliance.
- Conduct regular audits of commercial contracts, including ground handling, catering, and fuel supply agreements.
- Collaborate with the flight operations team to ensure all commercial flight schedules meet regulatory rest requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of documentation for regulatory inspections and audits.
- Review and validate passenger rights policies to ensure alignment with international consumer protection standards.
- Provide guidance to the marketing and sales departments regarding advertising compliance in the aviation sector.
Required Skills
- In-depth knowledge of ICAO standards and East African Community (EAC) aviation regulations.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal and commercial documents.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with government regulators and corporate stakeholders.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail in managing sensitive regulatory documentation.
- Proficiency in aviation management software and legal database tools.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management, International Law, Business Administration, or a related field is mandatory. Professional certification in Aviation Law or Compliance Management is highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess at least 5 years of professional experience within the aviation industry, specifically focusing on regulatory compliance, legal affairs, or commercial auditing. Previous experience working with a national flag carrier or a major international airline is an advantage.
Salary
The monthly gross salary for this position ranges from 4,500,000 SSP to 6,500,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s experience and expertise. This is a competitive package designed to attract top-tier talent in the aviation sector.
