Job Overview

The Telecommunications Regulatory Compliance Officer will lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance frameworks that align with Ugandan telecommunications regulations and global best practices. This role involves close collaboration with legal, network, and product teams to ensure that all services, products, and operations meet statutory requirements, licensing obligations, and industry standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update the telecommunications regulatory compliance program, ensuring alignment with UCC guidelines and international standards.
  • Monitor legislative changes, assess impact on operations, and advise senior management on necessary policy adjustments.
  • Prepare and submit all required regulatory filings, licenses, and reports within stipulated deadlines.
  • Conduct internal audits and compliance assessments, identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Uganda Communications Commission and other regulatory bodies.
  • Provide training and awareness sessions for cross‑functional teams on compliance obligations and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to interpret complex regulatory provisions and mitigate legal risks.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of compliance activities, audit findings, and corrective measures.
  • Support the development of new products and services by ensuring regulatory feasibility and compliance from concept to launch.
  • Report regularly to senior leadership on compliance status, risk exposure, and mitigation strategies.

Required Skills

Education

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in telecommunications regulatory compliance, preferably within a multinational operator or a regulatory agency. Experience in managing licensing processes, audit preparation, and regulatory reporting is essential.

Salary
