Job Overview
The Digital Literacy Program Manager will lead the design and execution of technology-driven education initiatives in Kamuli. This role focuses on integrating digital tools into classroom learning, training educators, and evaluating program impact. The position reports directly to the Regional Education Director and collaborates with Ugandan Ministry of Education stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement digital literacy curricula for primary/secondary schools
- Train teachers on educational software, online resources, and classroom technology
- Coordinate with local governments to identify schools needing digital infrastructure upgrades
- Monitor program progress using data analytics tools and report findings to donors
- Organize community workshops on digital safety and e-learning best practices
- Maintain partnerships with tech companies for device donations and software licenses
Required Skills
- Proven experience managing educational technology projects
- Strong understanding of Ugandan education system challenges
- Proficiency in Google Workspace for Education and Microsoft Office 365
- Excellent cross-cultural communication and stakeholder management
- Data analysis skills using Excel or Google Sheets
- Fluency in English and local languages (Luganda preferred)
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Information Technology, or related field. Master’s degree in International Development or Educational Technology is an asset.
Experience
3-5 years in educational program management with digital integration experience. Prior work in sub-Saharan Africa or other developing regions strongly preferred.
Salary
5,000,000 – 7,000,000 SSP monthly, depending on experience and qualifications.

Working Environment
This role operates in both office and field settings. The manager will spend 60% of time in schools across Kamuli and 40% in the regional office coordinating logistics. Occasional travel to Kampala for meetings with national partners is required.
