Job Overview
The E-commerce Marketplace Manager will be responsible for driving the growth and profitability of our third-party seller ecosystem in the Nebbi region. This role involves strategic planning, vendor relationship management, and performance optimization to ensure high service standards. You will act as the primary link between the platform and our local merchants, ensuring they are equipped to succeed in a digital-first economy. This is a pivotal role for anyone looking for employment in Uganda within the high-growth tech sector. You will manage product listings, monitor seller performance metrics, and implement promotional strategies to increase Gross Merchandise Value (GMV).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic plans to increase the number of active sellers on the marketplace.
- Monitor seller performance against key metrics such as order fulfillment rate and cancellation rate.
- Conduct regular training sessions for vendors on how to optimize their digital storefronts.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure timely delivery of marketplace orders.
- Analyze market trends to identify new product categories for expansion.
- Resolve complex disputes between customers and sellers to maintain platform integrity.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis and e-commerce metrics.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- In-depth understanding of digital marketing and SEO for product listings.
- Excellent communication skills in English and local languages.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field is required. Professional certifications in Digital Marketing or Supply Chain Management are highly advantageous.
Experience
Candidates must possess at least 5 years of experience in e-commerce management, retail operations, or digital marketplace administration. Proven track record of managing vendor relationships and driving sales growth is essential for this role.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 4,500,000 SSP to 7,200,000 SSP, depending on experience and performance metrics.
