Job Overview
The FinTech Product Manager will lead the end‑to‑end development of digital financial products that address the needs of underserved populations, small and medium enterprises, and the broader market. Reporting to the Head of Product Development, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including technology, design, compliance, and market research—to define product vision, strategy, and roadmaps. The role involves market analysis, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring products meet regulatory standards while delivering exceptional user experiences. Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute product strategy for fintech solutions, aligning with World Bank’s development goals.
- Conduct market research and user interviews to identify gaps and opportunities in Uganda’s financial services.
- Develop detailed product requirements, user stories, and wireframes in collaboration with UX/UI designers.
- Prioritize product backlog, manage sprint planning, and ensure timely delivery of features.
- Coordinate with engineering, data analytics, legal, and compliance teams to guarantee regulatory adherence.
- Monitor product performance metrics, analyze data, and iterate based on user feedback.
- Engage with external partners, including banks, mobile network operators, and fintech startups, to foster ecosystem collaboration.
- Prepare and present product updates to senior leadership and donor agencies.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of financial technology trends, digital payments, and mobile money platforms.
- Proven product management experience in fintech or related sectors.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and product lifecycle management.
- Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable product features.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline is required. A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, PMP) are highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five years of product management experience, with at least two years focused on fintech solutions, digital payments, or financial inclusion projects. Experience working in emerging markets, particularly in Africa, is a strong advantage.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 30,000,000 to SSP 45,000,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based incentives and comprehensive benefits.
