🔧 Job Overview
The company is seeking a highly experienced Head Mechanic for the Heavy Equipment Section to oversee heavy equipment maintenance, mechanical repair operations, and hydraulic systems management within a busy industrial and agricultural environment.
This role is central to ensuring the efficiency of industrial machinery maintenance, fleet reliability, and workshop operations in a sugar production facility.
⚙️ Key Responsibilities
🏗️ Heavy Equipment Maintenance & Mechanical Repairs
The Head Mechanic will lead the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery used in sugar production and agricultural operations, including loaders, excavators, graders, and hydraulic equipment. The role requires strong expertise in industrial equipment repair, mechanical troubleshooting, and hydraulic system maintenance.
🔧 Workshop Operations & Technical Supervision
You will supervise daily mechanical workshop operations in a sugar factory environment, ensuring all heavy equipment maintenance activities follow industrial safety standards and preventive maintenance schedules. This includes managing fleet maintenance planning and breakdown response systems.
🚜 Industrial Equipment Performance Management
A key responsibility is ensuring optimal performance of heavy machinery used in agro-industrial production, minimizing downtime through efficient maintenance strategies and ensuring continuous availability of equipment for plantation and factory operations.
📊 Maintenance Reporting & Documentation
The role involves maintaining accurate records for industrial machinery servicing, repair logs, and equipment performance tracking, while providing technical reports to management to support engineering decision-making in heavy equipment fleet management.
👷 Team Leadership in Mechanical Engineering
You will lead a team of mechanics and technicians in a heavy equipment workshop environment, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and supervision to ensure high-quality engineering maintenance services in an industrial setting.
🎓 Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Maintenance Engineering
- Minimum 7–8 years’ hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance and industrial machinery repair
- Strong technical experience in hydraulic systems, mechanical workshop management, and fleet maintenance operations
- Proven background in sugar factory maintenance, agricultural equipment repair, or manufacturing plant engineering support is highly desirable
🧠 Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in heavy equipment diagnostics, mechanical repair, and preventive maintenance systems
- Solid knowledge of industrial hydraulic systems and agricultural machinery maintenance
- Experience in workshop supervision, engineering team leadership, and equipment reliability management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing and sugar production environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in mechanical engineering operations
- Excellent coordination and reporting skills for industrial maintenance and fleet management systems
