Job Summary
The Head Mechanic for Truck Section will oversee the repair, servicing, inspection, and maintenance of heavy-duty TATA trucks used in transport and logistics operations. Key Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing and supervising the truck repair and maintenance section.
- Conducting diagnostic inspections for TATA trucks and identifying mechanical faults.
- Performing preventive maintenance to minimize truck downtime and improve efficiency.
- Monitoring engine performance, fuel systems, brakes, transmissions, and suspension systems.
- Coordinating repairs and ensuring all vehicles comply with operational safety standards.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance logs and service schedules.
- Supervising workshop staff and guiding junior mechanics on best maintenance practices.
- Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical truck issues efficiently.
- Ensuring availability of required spare parts and workshop tools.
- Supporting transportation operations by maintaining vehicle reliability.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Automobile Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Professional certification in vehicle mechanics or heavy-duty truck servicing is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of fleet maintenance systems, truck mechanics, and workshop operations.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 7–8 years of hands-on experience in repair and maintenance of TATA trucks.
- Proven expertise in heavy vehicle maintenance, truck engine systems, and transport fleet operations.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a vehicle maintenance workshop is preferred.
