📌 Job Overview

The Commissioning Mechanical Specialist (TIL) will support mechanical pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and performance testing activities for a Central Processing Facility in Africa. The role involves supervising mechanical teams, ensuring system readiness, and coordinating with contractors and vendors to meet project objectives.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

Commissioning & Technical Execution

  • Supervise mechanical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
  • Oversee rotating equipment testing (turbines, pumps, compressors)
  • Manage flushing, alignment, leak testing, and system cleaning
  • Prepare and review test packs for commissioning processes

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and equipment manufacturers
  • Support system completion teams and documentation processes
  • Participate in inspections, punch listing, and system reinstatement

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure PTW (Permit to Work) and safety procedures are followed
  • Supervise safe execution of mechanical operations
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and EPC standards

🧑‍🔧 Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of commissioning experience in EPC projects
  • Experience in oil & gas, refinery, or energy projects

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with rotating equipment systems
  • Knowledge of hydrotesting, flushing, and system commissioning
  • Familiarity with OPERCOM and ICAPS (advantage)
  • Ability to read and redline engineering drawings

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools
